Style Resolutions I’m Making Halfway Through the Year

By Maleah Puente

We’re a little over halfway through 2025, the seasons are shifting, and the world is changing. While fashion might seem like a light topic right now in the grand scheme of things, it’s deeply tied to our identity, wellbeing, and honestly, it’s just fun. So here are a few style resolutions I'm making as we head into the second half of the year.

Take More Fit Pics (Even if They’re Just for Me)

Taking pictures of my outfits is such a helpful tool. I often have days where I feel like I have nothing to wear while staring at my closet full of clothes. I get “fashion-block.” Having documentation of previous outfits can help inspire a new look or just give me a quick outfit when I’m in a rush. I find this to be much more useful than opening Pinterest to look for outfit inspo, knowing full well that I do not have any of those pieces in my closet (guilty). So now, I take pictures of even the simplest outfits. If I feel cute in it, I know I’ll want to wear it again.

Dressing for the Day I Want to Have

Getting ready for the day, even if I’m spending it at home, is always a fun way to lift my mood. But shifting my vibe, whether that’s romanticizing errands or wearing an aesthetic I typically wouldn’t wear, helps me shape the day I want to have. As cliché as it sounds, I am the main character in my life, so I will dress the part. I am in control of my energy, and how I present myself has always played a huge role in that. Transforming into whoever I want to become has brought out a renewed creativity that I need to feel confident.

Thrift More

I will always be a huge advocate for thrifting. While it does take time, it will always be my first option when shopping for outfits for a vacation, a special event, and building my dream closet. Shopping second-hand feels far more rewarding than purchasing an eight-dollar dress online that will be out of trend in a year and likely fall apart on its second wear.  Thrifting allows an opportunity to find one-of-a-kind pieces that have proven to stand the test of time.
